Step 1: Extraction
The sugarcane is crushed to extract the juice. This juice contains sucrose along with impurities

Step 2: Clarification
The extracted juice is heated and treated with lime to remove impurities.

Step 3: Evaporation
The clarified juice is concentrated by boiling in multiple-effect evaporators to remove most of the water

Step 4: Crystallization
The concentrated syrup is boiled under vacuum to form sugar crystals, which are then separated
